Dental Hygienist 3 Days, 401k with matching

Pinecone Dental Care - Portland, OR
Part-time
Salary: $55.00 - $60.00 Hourly
Application Deadline: Sep 30, 2026
Health Services

One patient at a time. No assisted hygiene model. No clocking out if patient cancels/no-shows.

We don't double-book. Not on busy days, not when we're behind, not ever. It isn't a perk — it's how this practice is built. We do not run accelerated/assisted hygiene model. We also do not make you clock out mid day if patients no-show. This is a long term relationship we're trying to build here, not a transactional one.

About us

Pinecone Dental Care is a boutique private practice restorative practice on SE Cesar Chavez Blvd in SE Portland. Dr. Zhu trained at the University of Michigan and has completed hundreds of hours at the Kois Center. We practice adhesive biomimetic dentistry — conservative, evidence-based, unhurried. Our patients come to us because they want that, and they stay.

The work

Our hygiene protocol combines ultrasonic instrumentation, hand scaling, and air polishing with modern low-abrasive powders. If you trained on GBT principles and never got to practice them on a real schedule, this is that job. If you didn't, we'll teach you.

New patients get two full hours, Recall is always one. Your first comprehensive exam will not be a scramble, and neither will your hundredth.

Schedule

Three days per week, Wednesday ~ Friday .

Evenings off. Weekends off.

No clocking out if patient cancels.

Compensation

Starting at $55~$60 per hour.

  • Employer funded HSA contribution
  • 401(k) with match after 1 year — 100% match on your first 3%, 50% on the next 2%
  • Paid sick time accruing from day one
  • Paid vacation: 1 week from year 1, → 2 weeks at year 3,→ 3 weeks at year 4 and beyond

Who we're hoping to meet

We're looking for someone careful, curious, and genuinely warm with patients, who wants to become excellent and understands that takes a few years. We aren't looking for speed.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. So are hygienists who feel rushed where they are.

Requirements

  • Oregon dental hygiene license (or pending — we're hiring for an October start)
  • Oregon radiologic proficiency certificate
  • Current BLS/CPR
